SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Three men from Camden County and one from Philadelphia have been charged with human trafficking, racketeering and promoting prostitution for their roles in an alleged prostitution ring.
According to the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, 40-year-old Keith Woodson, of Camden, was the ringleader of a prostitution operation that investigators said forced two women into sex acts with paying customers.
The victims were given drugs, and if they refused demands, the victims said they were threatened with violence against themselves and their families.
Woodson allegedly rented hotel rooms and solicited customers from bars and convenience stores he frequented.
Lee Byrd, 62, of Philadelphia; Raymond Cooper, 48, of Sicklerville; and Andre Lindsay, 41, of Woodlyne; each face multiple first-degree offenses for their alleged roles in the operation.
First-degree crimes carry sentences of 10 to 20 years in prison.
