PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking to identify two men wanted in connection with a South Philadelphia house burglary earlier this week.

They say on Wednesday, around 2:30 p.m., a man knocked on a person’s door along the 2900 block of South Juniper Street claiming he was with a construction company and needed to check the rear deck “at the request of the building inspector.”

The resident let the man in and walked him to the deck. He then talked with the resident for about five to 10 minutes while a second person snuck in the house and went to a bedroom on the second floor, where he stole jewelry.

The men then left the house and went north on Juniper Street.

One suspect is believed to be between 25-35 years old. Police say he is around 5-foot-10, has a heavy build and was last seen wearing a baseball hat, black shirt and blue jeans. The other’s age is not known but police say he’s around 5-foot-8, has a medium build and was last seen in a dark-colored hat, black jacket and blue jeans.

Police say no threats or signs of force were used during the incident.

If you have any information on this burglary, police ask you contact the South Detectives Division at 215-686-3013.
