NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A Pine Hill man has been arrested and charged for attempting to have a sexual encounter with an underage girl.

In October, Michael Marchionese, 51, was chatting online with a 14-year-old and planned to meet her at a hotel in Cherry Hill. However, the 14-year-old was actually an undercover detective.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s office said Marchionese asked the girl multiple times for nude pictures. That would be a first-degree crime: attempted manufacturing of child sexual abuse material.

U.S. Marshals arrested Marchionese at his home in Pine Hill.

He’s charged with attempted sexual assault of a child, attempted luring and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.

A court hearing is set for January.
