VALLEY FORGE, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — If Instagram is one of your social media choices, a Montgomery County tourism group is recommending some ideal holiday photo shoot locations.
Rachel Riley, of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, said they developed a list of the “10 Most Instagrammable Holiday Displays” in Montgomery County.
“There are so many different ways to still enjoy the holidays here, see festive lights,” she said. “Get yourself in that mood, that spirit to kind of not just get through and survive the holidays but really enjoy them and thrive with them with your family.”
Riley said the sites require wearing of masks or face coverings and enforce social distancing.
“There’s Pottsgrove Manor, there’s Pennypacker Mills, so great places that are going to be all decked out for the holidays – both outside and inside,” she explained.
“And then even some of our quaint towns and villages like Skippack, everything’s going to be lit up. There’s candles, there’s lights as you walk through this cozy, warm village.”
Among the other spots: Valley Forge National Historical Park.
“The park itself is such a beautiful place to go take photos,” Riley said. “Lots of people do their holiday pictures there or Christmas photos for their Christmas cards. So great place to take the family, cross your fingers for some snow. Maybe we’ll have a white Christmas.”
And, Riley said, the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown is another ideal spot for families.
“It’s already outside,” she said. “There will be activities, they can still see the animals. But everything is lit up. There’s like a million lights on display there, so really festive, really fun for the kids.”
