
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Montgomery County officials have identified the three people who died during the volatile storm that pounded the region on Wednesday.
All of the victims were older adults, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
Maxine Weinstein, 68, of Fort Washington, died of “traumatic asphyxia” on Wednesday. She was killed by a tree that fell on her house.
Craig Messinger, 70, of Schwenksville, was found dead in Skippack Township on Thursday. He drowned in his car.
Jack Caroluzzi, 65, of Bridgeport, drowned in his basement on Thursday. The coroner is investigating further.
Nearly two dozen people in central and north New Jersey also died by drowning in floodwaters.
The National Weather Service of Mount Holly confirmed that a tornado traveled across the county. It started in Fort Washington and Upper Dublin Township and made its way to Horsham.
It was rated an EF-2 tornado with estimated peak winds up to 130 mph.
