MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A driver was killed in what Pennsylvania State Police say was a road rage crash on eastbound Route 422 in Limerick Township Sunday.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. State police say two people in a Chevy Cruz told them they were involved in some sort of incident with a black Volvo several miles back.
They say a person in the Volvo followed them, swerved in front of them and brake-checked them.
The Cruz rear-ended the Volvo, causing the driver of the Volvo to lose control, drive off the road and hit a tree.
The driver of the Volvo was trapped inside the car and died. The car sustained significant damage.
The driver of the Cruz is charged with driving under the influence. State police say he could face more charges.
Route 422 was shut down for a little over two hours as crews tended to the scene.
