Montgomery County restaurants offer al fresco weekend dining options

VALLEY FORGE (KYW Newsradio) -- Several Montgomery County restaurants are putting out the welcome mat for heated outdoor dining options this weekend to celebrate the new year.

Rachel Riley of the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board says there are many al fresco options featuring heated patios, heat lamps and tents.

"Ring in the new year with something new and different, and make it feel special and dine outside," Riley said. "I know it’s going to be chilly, but bundle up and you’ll feel warm."

Riley said there are restaurants for every budget and taste, for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch.

"Treat yourself," she said. "And definitely get a cocktail and some dessert."

Riley said the tourism board has put together a fairly sizeable group of restaurants. There are five places with heated outdoor dining scattered across Montgomery County, and valleyforge.org has a more extensive list of restaurants with al fresco seating. But Riley says diners will need to plan ahead with a reservation.

"Make sure that you’re calling ahead and getting a reservation, because obviously there’s some limited space available for folks, COVID precautions that they’re taking," she advised. "So make sure that you check that out, too, before you visit any of the restaurants. And wear a mask."
