PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new ride service will soon connect American Airlines passengers from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Philadelphia International Airport.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority announced Thursday that, starting Oct. 7, American Airlines passengers with a departing flight out of PHL will be able to park, check-in baggage, and clear security at ILG before boarding a motorcoach to PHL.

After the 50-minute ride, passengers will arrive at a secure area at PHL’s Terminal F and proceed directly to the gate to board a flight.

And when you return to PHL, you can hop back on the motorcoach airside for a nonstop ride to ILG. Checked baggage will automatically be transferred to the motorcoach.

The buses will make six roundtrips each day.

DRBA is working with American Airlines and The Landline Company on a final service agreement.

American Airlines offers a similar service to PHL from Atlantic City and Lehigh Valley international airports.
