Motorcyclist injured in accident involving police vehicle in University City

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There was an accident involving a police vehicle and a motorcycle on Wednesday morning in University City.

The police said it happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of 38th and Market Streets.

The man driving the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is not known.

No police officers were injured.

There were road closures in the area for a few hours as the investigation was taking place.

The front bumper of the police vehicle was completely knocked off.  The motorcycle sustained damage as well.
