PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Five people were injured in a serious multi-vehicle crash Monday morning in Prospect Park, Delaware County.
Police say just after 10 a.m., the driver of a Corvette crashed after speeding and driving recklessly on Chester Pike near Summit Avenue.
In all, seven vehicles were involved, some of which were parked.
Authorities say one vehicle flipped over and struck a gas line, causing what police describe as "some potentially dangerous moments,” but PECO quickly shut off the gas.
      
  Two drivers were entrapped. Five people were taken to the hospital.
      
  
      
  The incident closed Chester Pike between Summit Avenue and Amosland Road for about four hours.
