PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — This year’s Broad Street Run is getting a new date.

The 10-mile race has traditionally taken place on the first Sunday of May. But this year, it’s set for April 30.

Race organizers say the change was made so it does not interfere with the Phillies’ series against the Red Sox at Citizens Bank Park on May 7.

The date change is for this year only.

Also new this year is the finish line. It’s at the K lot near Lincoln Financial Field.

Vaccination and mask requirements are gone, as is the virtual race option.

And coming back is the lottery system. About 40,000 runners will be chosen. Runners can enter the lottery starting Feb. 1.
