PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA), which represents all 60-plus vineyards across New Jersey, is hosting a free open house-style event this week promoting women in the wine industry.

The Women in Wine caucus and meet-and-greet networking event will be held on Tuesday at the GSWGA headquarters in Haddonfield between 4 and 7 p.m.

Executive Director Devon Perry said the event is held in a supportive environment where industry professionals can give feedback, tips and guidance, and discuss professional elevation opportunities for women.

“We also have a diversity, equity, access and inclusion committee,” she added, “so we are looking forward to other events happening throughout the year and throughout the state, allowing the public and the press to meet the people behind the bottle.

“There are so many people who have interests in knowing more — not just about drinking the wine, but how it is made, how to structure the business, what it takes to create a brand, how to label the bottles. What we hope to do is really open the door up to anyone who is interested in exploring behind the vine, with all of the people from all walks of life that hail from the Garden State.”

The event is free and open to all.
