PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A South Jersey gynecologist has been charged with sexually assaulting three of his patients.
Jerome Check, 80, of Melrose Park, Pennsylvania, runs a reproductive and infertility practice in Mount Laurel. The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said Check assaulted his patients while alone with them in the examination room.
Officials said two of them believed their visits would be merely informational, but then Check told them he had to perform invasive exams.
Prosecutors plan to present the case to a grand jury.
Investigators want to know if there were more victims. If anyone believes they were assaulted by Check, they are advised to reach out to Mount Laurel police or the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
