SOMERVILLE, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- A New Jersey woman has been charged with the murder in the deaths of her two children.
On Tuesday at 7:41 a.m., Hillsborough Township police responded to call for a disabled car that went off Mountain View Road.
Police said when they arrived, they identified Yuhwei Chou, 36, of Skillman, as the driver of the vehicle, and found two children secured in a booster seat and a baby seat in the back of the vehicle.
The kids were identified as Chou’s children, Samantha Ross, 7, and Paul Ross, 10 months, and were observed to be bound and restrained. Officials said neither child had vital signs, and were pronounced dead, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to a prosecutor, an investigation found that Chou caused their deaths, but more details, including how the children died, wasn’t immediately available.
Officials said an autopsy for the cause and manner of the deaths will be performed.
Chou has been charged with two counts of murder and will be held at Somerset County Jail.
