PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A plane that took off from the Jersey Shore late Saturday night crashed in Maryland, killing all three men on board.
The single-engine plane took off from Ocean City, New Jersey, around 11:30 p.m., en route to Montgomery County, Maryland.
It went down in a wooded area in Bowie, Maryland, about 40 miles from its destination.
“We believe the plane belongs to a local flight school in Montgomery County and was possibly participating in a training flight,” said Elaina Russo with Maryland State Police.
She said the woods where the plane crashed are very close to a residential area.
The NTSB and FAA are leading the investigation.
