PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Cooper University Health Care is getting a $100 million gift from George Norcross, the chairman of Cooper’s Board of Trustees and a South Jersey Democratic powerbroker.
It’s one of the largest-ever gifts to a health system in the entire state, and the biggest single donation in Cooper’s history.
Cooper plans to add “Norcross” to its name in some way.
Norcross said the donation is in honor of his parents. He said his family is “so proud to make this contribution” as an investment in the future of the people of South Jersey and in “Camden’s continued renaissance.”
