PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A senior citizen is dead and two others are wounded after a shooting Tuesday in North Philadelphia.

Police said it happened around 5 p.m. near 22nd Street and Ridge Avenue. Surveillance cameras captured four people getting out of a silver-colored SUV, then opening fire.

Officers found three men at the scene — ages 31, 71 and 78 — all suffering from gunshot wounds. The 31-year-old was shot several times in the lower back and leg, the 71-year-old shot twice in the back, and the 78-year-old shot once in the back.

The three victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where the 78-year-old was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m.

The other two victims were listed at first in critical condition but have been upgraded to stable.

Police said more than 50 spent shell casings were found at the scene from several semi-automatic weapons.

Investigators are working to determine a motive. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
