BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A woman in her 80s was found dead in her Northampton Township apartment over the weekend. According to court documents, her son allegedly told police in Washington, D.C., on Sunday that he killed her.

William Ingram, 49, was arrested in Washington after he smashed a police car window with a skateboard while naked, according to charging documents.

An affidavit of probable cause filed in Bucks County says the officer who arrested him in Washington called authorities in the county and said Ingram told multiple officers he had killed his mother.

The affidavit says when Northampton Township police went to the first-floor condo Ingram shares with his mother on Beacon Hill Drive in Holland, Bucks County, they saw signs of struggle through a window, then found the woman’s body in the living room under a pile of clothes, plates, towels and a couch.

The Bucks County criminal complaint for theft charges says it appears Ingram’s mother died from severe head trauma.

The complaint says a neighbor told police she heard loud banging in the apartment around 1 a.m., Saturday. Not long after, the complaint says that neighbor’s security camera showed Ingram walking outside the apartment without a shirt on.

The complaint says Ingram’s car was in the parking lot, but his mother’s car was gone.

Ingram is currently charged in Bucks County with car theft.

Officials say the investigation into his mother’s death is ongoing, with an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday morning.
