Northeast Philadelphia shooting leaves 2 including water department worker injured

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia Water Department worker and another man were shot in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the shootings happened around 12:45 p.m. near Torresdale and Cottman avenues.

Police say the worker, 25, was shot in the leg and drove himself and the other victim, 31, to the hospital.

The water department worker is expected to physically recover, while the other man is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police did not initially make an arrest or recover a weapon at the scene.
