PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Four people were shot during an altercation at a party in North Philadelphia overnight. Two of the victims, including a teenager, are in police custody.
Shortly after midnight on Monday, police said three men and a teen were shot during a party in an alleyway off Marwood Road, near Rising Sun Avenue in Olney. Officials said an argument led to the gunfire.
An off-duty police officer heard the gunshots and chased after the men, but he lost them.
Authorities said a teenager was shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The teen was later detained after investigators said he left a weapon at the scene.
“Witnesses directed officers to a house on the corner here, where a firearm was found. Witnesses indicated the firearm was placed there by the individual who was in the ambulance,” said Capt. Lewis Higginson.
Investigators found shell casings along Marwood Road. A bullet went through the front window of a nearby home. No one inside was hurt.
Authorities said three men walked into a nearby hospital a short time later with gunshot wounds. One of them is also being detained by police.
