SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Mummers will march down Broad Street on New Year’s Day 2026 for the 125th time, and organizers provided some insight Thursday about what’s in store for the historic milestone.
The parade will kick off at 9 a.m. at City Hall, and the bands will dance south on Broad Street until 7 p.m.
In total, 14 string bands are taking part in the parade along with 10 wench brigades, three comic clubs, and one fancy club.
Angelo Diantonio is a Mummer from Media who plays the violin and accordion. He’ll be front and center as part of the Joseph A. Ferko String Band.
“I’ve been on the street watching parades all my childhood life, and I just enjoy it,” said Diantonio. “It’s in my blood.”
He said beyond the New Year’s Day tradition, it’s also a busy time of the year for Mummers with various performances and gigs throughout the holiday season.
Tickets for bleacher seats at the parade are available online or at the Philadelphia Visitor Center.
The parade is also being live-streamed online from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
