PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pennsylvania is investing more than $400,000 in environmental protection and education. Grant applications are now open.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is accepting proposals through Nov. 13 for 2027 environmental education grants.
Qualified applicants include businesses, schools, nonprofits and county conservation districts. Projects need to focus on air and water quality, land use, or climate change, with a goal of ramping up public understanding and community stewardship.
Seed grants up to $5,000 are available, along with grow grants up to $30,000, and impact grants up to $65,000.
Projects that serve environmental justice and underserved communities will be given priority.
The DEP is hosting a free webinar on Oct. 13 at noon. Registration must be completed on the DEP’s website by Oct. 12.
