PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — More than a dozen people have been charged in connection with a large-scale cocaine trafficking ring that operated out of two Penn State University fraternity houses in 2023 and 2024.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said Agostino Abbatiello, a fraternity brother at Sigma Chi, and Thomas Robinson, a fraternity brother at Delta Upsilon, were the main suppliers.

He said they made frequent trips to Philadelphia and New York for large quantities of cocaine and brought it back to their fraternity houses, where the cocaine was cut and packaged — sometimes by pledges for indoctrination into the fraternity.

Officials said the drugs were distributed mainly to Penn State students.

Four of the 14 charged are current Penn State students.

Penn State said it is horrified by the allegations and will conduct its own investigation. Meanwhile, the university is putting Delta Upsilon on interim suspension. It said Sigma Chi is not a recognized organization and operates outside of the university's support and oversight. The university said it is working to establish additional educational and hazing prevention efforts.
