PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Everyone needs an editor, especially contractors who erect interstate highway signs in high-profile locations.

A newly installed highway sign near Cottman Avenue and State Road — the site of last year’s I-95 collapse where Gov. Josh Shapiro declared “Pennsylvania gets ... [stuff] … done” — is misspelled.

It pointed drivers to the ramp for southbound I-95 toward “CENRTAL Philadelphia,” with the “T” and “R” transposed.

The typo was, of course, exposed on social media, where it gained a general “shaking my head” (SMH) response.

PennDOT Press Secretary Alexis Campbell saidys the sign was fabricated by Rocal Inc. and installed by ML Ruberton Construction Company.

“This error should not have happened and definitely should have been caught before the sign was installed. We are reviewing our processes to ensure that this doesn’t happen again,” she said.

Campbell says the estimated amount the contractors will absorb is $15,000.

On Tuesday morning, crews made the correction to the much-maligned sign in Northeast Philly.
