Boil water advisory for part of Montgomery County

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — At least 11,000 residents in a section of Montgomery County are under a boil water advisory Friday morning due to water main repairs in Norristown.

Pennsylvania American Water said people who live in East Norriton, Whitpain and Plymouth townships, as well as a section of Norristown, must boil water intended for drinking or cooking.

The utility company said crews are working on repairs and collecting water quality samples.

Some residents may also experience service disruptions or low pressure.

Affected residents can access free clean water tankers at three locations:
• Home Goods on Skippack Pike in Blue Bell
• East Norriton Police Department
• Norriton Fire Engine Company

Residents are asked to bring their own containers.

There’s no timetable on when service will get back to normal, but the company said it will update its customers.
