Pennsylvania COVID-19 cases see drop over last week, but still high

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — COVID-19 cases are still high across Pennsylvania, but they dropped a bit over the last week.

Pennsylvania's total positivity rate dropped from 9.5% to 8.6%. Under 5% is the goal. After holding steady for the past couple weeks, total new cases statewide dropped by more than 4,000 for the entire week.

Delaware County saw a decrease in daily average cases, down to 165 cases per day with a positivity rate down to 8.4%.

Chester County’s positivity rate dropped from 8.7% to 7.2% while the 7-day average of new cases went down from 129 to 111 per day.

Montgomery County's daily average of new cases fell from 214 per day to 188, while the positivity rate dropped to just over 8%.

Bucks County’s seven-day average dropped from 213 to 185, with the positivity rate down a full percentage point to 9.5%.
