Man charged with firing shots in multiple road rage incidents on Pa. Turnpike

Andre Green faces 23 charges, with one of the incidents caught on video

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Fort Washington man is accused of shooting at drivers on two different days on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County.

According to charging documents, Andre Green, 29, is accused of firing shots from his car at a man driving a pick-up truck near the Bensalem Interchange around 2:20 p.m. on March 15. Then on March 21 shortly before 3 p.m., he allegedly fired at women on the turnpike in Bensalem Township.

State Police said both incidents started as road rage, and while neither driver needed medical attention, they recovered four slugs, two each from the two cars.

The second incident was caught on video from the other car. State police said that in the video, you can see the driver of the grey sedan rack the slide of a gun, point it in the direction of the other driver, and open fire.

Law enforcement said both incidents started as road rage.

The day after the second shots fired incident, state police were waiting at the Bensalem interchange and saw a grey sedan with temporary tags matching the description of the car in both incidents.

They said troopers saw Green get on the freeway, and when they tried to stop him, he sped away. State Police cut off the pursuit out of safety concerns.

But the crimes allegedly didn’t end there.

State Police said the car Green was driving was a rental. He swapped it out, and in the process, they said he threatened to kill two employees at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car by Philadelphia International Airport.

They say troopers observed Green on the turnpike going over 100 miles per hour, tailgating and brake checking, slamming on his brakes unexpectedly in front of another car.

Green is charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and prohibited possession of a firearm.

State Police also said they saw him swap the license plate off the rental car, and replace it with a temporary tag he had from a different car.

Green had a Philadelphia address on driver’s license.

Investigators said he has two prior felony convictions and is not allowed to possess a gun.

He faces 23 charges, including multiple counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and prohibited possession of a firearm.

Bail was set at $85,000. Online dockets say he’s unable to post bail.
