PROSPECT PARK, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — The Prospect Park Police Department in Delaware County has identified a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of an indecent assault of a 12-year-old girl at a Dollar Tree last week.
Robert McCool, 35, has not been named a suspect in connection with the incident, but police said they want to talk to him about what happened.
Authorities said the assault happened on Aug. 3, when a 12-year-old girl was inappropriately touched by a man inside a Dollar Tree along Chester Pike near Summit Avenue in Prospect Park.
Officials said after the assault, the girl got her younger sister and both ran into a restroom, locked the door and called for help. The suspect in the incident got away.
McCool is a Florida resident with ties to the Philadelphia region.
Authorities ask the public to not approach or confront McCool, but provide information about his location to law enforcement. Members of the public are directed to call 911 or call the Prospect Park Police Department at 610-534-2222.
