PHILADELPHIA (94WIP SportsRadio) — The Philadelphia Eagles held a press conference on Wednesday with GM Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni, confirming Sirianni will remain as the team's head coach.

Sirianni confirmed that the organization has fired offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, as well as defensive coordinators Sean Desai and Matt Patricia.

"I can't tell you how much I appreciate him as a coach," Sirianni said of Johnson. "We've had a lot of success the last three years and Brian has contributed a lot to that. "Now it's time for some fresh thoughts."

Sirianni, when asked about his job as the head coach, says he will continue as the head coach and may sit in the defensive meetings more often.

The Eagles are retaining Sirianni despite an epic collapse to the 2023 season, as the team won just one of their final seven games and were blown out in the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Sirianni, 42, has reached the playoffs in three consecutive seasons to start his tenure as Eagles head coach. However, he is now 2-3 his postseason career, including two blowout losses to the Tampa Bay Bucs and a Super Bowl loss.

Sirianni is 34-17 in three regular seasons as Eagles head coach. He was hired on January 24th, 2021, replacing Super Bowl winning head coach Doug Pederson. Two months later, the organization traded Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, opening the door for Jalen Hurts to become the team's franchise quarterback.

Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and Roseman were likely not eager to conduct their fourth head coaching search in 11 years, allowing Sirianni at least one more season to right the ship.
