SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A 26-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in the killing of a woman at a motel in Maple Shade, New Jersey earlier this year.
According to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, Alexander Rivera, of Mayfair, is facing murder and related charges for the stabbing and strangulation of 36-year-old Michelle Johnston.
The incident happened on May 11 at the Bel-Air Motor Lodge on Route 73. Johnston was found dead in a motel room.
Investigators say the motive remains under investigation.
He was taken into custody last week by U.S. marshals. The case is now being prepared for a grand jury for possible indictment.
