PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have identified a suspect wanted in connection with a triple shooting aboard a SEPTA bus that left three women injured Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. on a SEPTA Route G bus near 57th Street and Larchwood Avenue in West Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek section.
Witnesses say three men got on the bus, did not pay the fare, argued with the driver, and exited.
That's when police say 18-year-old Raphael Ezeamaka, of Darby, pulled out a handgun and fired four shots into the bus from the outside.
Responding officers found a 29-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the hip, a 56-year-old woman with a wound to the back, and a 60-year-old woman with a graze wound to the head. All three were taken to a nearby hospital and are listed in stable condition.
Ezeamaka is wanted for aggravated assault, VUFA, and related offenses. Officials say he frequents Southwest, West, and South Philly areas.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach; officials urge you to call 215-686-8477 or 911 with information.
