Philadelphia Police release images, video of suspect in fatal University City convenience store shooting
Philadelphia Police Department.

UNIVERSITY CITY (KYW Newsradio) — New images and video have been released of a suspect accused of gunning down a man inside a University City convenience store earlier this month. Philadelphia Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

The shooting happened just after 4:30 p.m. on April 6.

Philadelphia Police Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore said surveillance video from inside the convenience store at 40th and Market Streets shows the gunman having a heated conversation with the victim, 26-year-old Savion Pollard-Poulson.

“They could have known each other because they are talking and then an argument ensues, at which time the offender produces a gun and shoots the victim,” said Vanore.

Pollard-Poulson would later die at the hospital.

Vanore described the suspect as a Black man wearing all black, in glasses. He got away from the scene on a motorized scooter.

“We do catch up with him again and in some of the images he is not wearing the glasses, so he does sometimes wear glasses. But we are urging people to take a good look at him and if they know them, give us a call,” said Vanore.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS.
