PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If the Eagles make it to Super Bowl LIX, the last thing fans want to see is Saquon Barkley roll over.
As for Saquon Barky, that’s a different story.
The aptly named adoptable pup is one of 12 greater Philadelphia-area dogs participating in the 2025 Puppy Bowl.
The annual event features nearly 150 rescue puppies from 80 shelters across the country. Teams Fluff and Ruff “compete” for the Lombarky Trophy — all in the name of sharing these puppies’ stories and getting them into forever homes.
Three dogs on Team Ruff are from the Brandywine Valley SPCA in West Chester — Erika, Sadie and Mindy, who is vision-impaired.
Other participating pups are from area shelters, including Phoenix Animal Rescue in Chester County; Providence Animal Center in Delaware County; MatchDog Rescue in Burlington County, New Jersey; Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue in Salem County, New Jersey; and Renee’s Rescue in New Castle County, Delaware.
The Puppy Bowl will air on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max and discovery+.
Puppy Bowl viewers will also get a special sneak peek of the new “Superman” movie, starring Philly native David Corenswet. Staying on theme, one pup that shows “super” abilities will be given the Krypto Super Play Award. Writer and director James Gunn will deliver a special message with his dog Ozu.
