PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Art Museum has parted ways with Director and CEO Sasha Suda less than one month after rebranding.

In a statement, the Art Museum acknowledged Suda was no longer with the nonprofit and declined to comment on the reasons.

Louis Marchesano, deputy director of Curatorial Affairs and Conservation, will assume day-to-day operational leadership while the museum begins the hunt for a new CEO.

In early October, the museum rebranded its logo and name, changing from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the Philadelphia Art Museum and embracing a new logo of the building’s griffon gargoyles.

Suda, who is from Toronto, spent three years at the helm after leaving the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.

Published reports indicate board members were upset with a lack of prior notice and approval of the logo reveal and “for focusing too much on inclusion.”

Suda could not be reached for comment.
