PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Department of Public Health confirmed one additional case of measles on Tuesday.
This new case brings the total number of confirmed cases of measles by the department to nine, with eight in Philadelphia and one outside the city — and is the fifth case to be tied to an outbreak at a Northeast Philadelphia daycare that began in December.
Amid the outbreak, the health department encourages all who are not vaccinated against measles to get the vaccine.
Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccines are available at the following city health centers on Mondays through Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.
• Health Center 3, 555 S. 43rd Street, 19104
• Health Center 4, 4400 Haverford Avenue, 19104
• Health Center 5, 1900 N. 20th. Street, 19121
In addition, officials have coordinated the following additional opportunities at Northeast Philly’s Health Center 10, at 2230 Cottman Avenue, to ensure that children and adults who need an MMR vaccine can get vaccinated.

• Saturday, January 27, 2024, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

People seeking vaccination do not need any identification — a piece of mail with an address will qualify them as a resident. Insurance is not required to be vaccinated. The department says appointments can be made with its call center, at (215) 685-2933.
