Man in custody after barricading in Philly home over child abduction report, police say

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — SWAT officers responded Tuesday afternoon to an East Germantown neighborhood following a report of a child abduction.

Philadelphia police said it happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of North 20th Street near West Nedro Avenue.

Officials reported there were approximately six gunshots heard coming from inside a rowhome.

It was declared a barricade situation, and at about 5 p.m., a man came out of the residence with his hands up and was taken into custody.

A child was found safe at the location. The investigation is ongoing.
