PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two Philadelphia men have each been sentenced to about two decades in prison for conspiring to carry out a string of robberies at gunpoint throughout the city in 2022.

Lance Ryan, 28, was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison after pleading guilty in March to several offenses related to robbery and firearms.

Co-defendant Rodney Whiting, 33, received more than 19 years behind bars last month. He pleaded guilty in February to the same charges Ryan faced.

Federal prosecutors said three people were shot across two separate incidents during their crime spree, which stretched between May and Oct. 2022. Officials said another accomplice, who was charged separately, collaborated with them. The group used at least one privately made "ghost gun."

They committed a handful of robberies during this string, hitting a 7-Eleven, a Little Caesar's, and a Dollar General, among other businesses.
