PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pickleball is nothing short of a phenomenon. The racket sport has been around for decades but existed in relative obscurity. Now, miniature tennis courts are popping up everywhere.
The sport can be played by people of all ages and is very popular with baby boomers — which is good because exercise and stress reduction are great at any age.
Perhaps it is a result of the rapid learning curve of the sport or maybe the smaller court, but several new reports suggest many people do not stretch before and after the activity.
As a result, muscle sprains and strains are quite common. If you are going to play, also make sure to stretch and wear the proper footwear for racket sports.
