PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A flight believed to be carrying hundreds of migrants traveling from Texas to New York City was diverted in Philadelphia Tuesday.
A city spokesperson says weather was the reason.
They say about 240 asylum seekers were onboard and they are working to help them reach their final destination.
About a week ago, Texas sent a plane with more than 120 migrants from the U.S.-Mexico border to Chicago.
This is believed to be an escalation of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s migrant busing operation. Since last year, he has sent more than 80,000 migrants on buses to Democratic-led cities across the country.
