PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A shake-up in Pennsylvania’s cocktail market is creating quite a stir.

Grocery stores, gas stations and other retailers will soon be able to sell ready-to-drink cocktails. Pre-mixed drinks in cans and bottles have only been stocked at Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores up until now.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is accepting applications, starting Tuesday, for permits to sell boozy to-go beverages. Sales would begin on Sept. 16.

The action is the result of legislation signed last month by Gov. Josh Shapiro.
