PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One of Philadelphia’s most beloved children’s museums will hit a major milestone in October.
The Please Touch Museum will celebrate its 50th anniversary this weekend, kicking things off with a free birthday weekend party on Oct. 3 and 4.
Ivy Brown, the museum’s chief growth officer, said it’s going to be like a “kid's birthday party supersized.”
“We’re going to have a birthday fashion show with a red carpet, free cupcakes while supplies last each day, [a] bubble performance, a magic show, and jugglers,” she said.
The museum will also have an interactive birthday cake exhibit, with pushable buttons and candles for kids to light, as well as a show with community performers playing music in their theater.
“We just want to applify the impact we’ve ahd on the community over the last 50 years and provide additional access to learning through play,” Brown said.
The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with free admission, guests must register online first at pleasetouchmuseum.org
