PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was gunned down in Point Breeze Wednesday night. Police believe the shooter may have gotten into a fight with the victim earlier this week.
Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a large crowd at 21st and Wharton Streets. They were about a block away when they heard gunshots. The cops got there quickly and found a 31-year-old man down on the ground and bleeding heavily.
He had been shot in the head and leg. Police took him to the hospital, where he died. He was later identified as Walter S. Holloway.
At the scene, police found two spent shell casings just inches from the victim.
Investigators believe the person who pulled the trigger got into some sort of altercation with Holloway the day before.
Police are going through surveillance footage from the neighborhood.
