Police search for suspects after 40 boxes of meat stolen from truck in Northeast Philly

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for two men who they said stole dozens of boxes of meat from a tractor-trailer in Northeast Philadelphia on Sunday.

The theft happened around 3:15 a.m. behind a business on the 9700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. According to police, the truck driver sensed the truck shaking and saw the pair unloading about 40 boxes of meat from the trailer into two Nissan vehicles.

Eight of those boxes were later recovered nearby, but the suspects drove off in the vehicles before police arrived.

The suspects are described as two Black males driving two Nissan vehicles. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
