PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities are searching for a group of armed men who broke into a Northeast Philadelphia home early Thursday morning.

Detectives say five or six men — half of them with guns — barged into the home along Akron Street near Unruh Avenue around 4:15 a.m. They struck a 31-year-old man over the head, then took studio equipment and cellphones.

A 9-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman were also inside at the time.

Northeast detectives are actively investigating.
