PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to the shooting of a five-year-old and his grandfather at a Philadelphia gas station in June.
Officials say U.S. Marshalls took 22-year-old Keon Smith into custody on Monday. A month after the incident, officers arrested 21-year-old Antwan Grimes, who they believe was also involved.
There's an active arrest warrant out for 19-year-old Amir Johnson, who police say is the third suspect in the shooting.
The five-year-old's father told investigators at the time of the shooting that he was driving on 61st Street in Southwest Philly with the two in the vehicle when someone drove up behind them and fired gunshots at the car.
He said as he pulled into the gas station the gunfire continued.
The 71-year-old grandfather is still listed in critical condition, according to police. The little boy was stable.
As for a motive, investigators say it's still unknown.
