NORRISTOWN, PA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people were arrested in connection with a murder in Norristown last month.

Officials say they tracked down 20-year-olds Ana Gonzalez-Munguia and Erick Galo-Ponce in Harris County, Texas. They will be extradited to Montgomery County to face a number of charges, including theft and the second-degree murder of 23-year-old Nilsson Velazquez-Cardona.

Velazquez-Cardona was found dead under the Stony Creek bridge in December. Montgomery County officials say he suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was found with no money, wallet, cellphone or identification.

To identify the body, officials say they ran a fingerprint test that showed he was reported missing the day before.

A homicide investigation then revealed Velazquez-Cardona had a car and bank card that was missing but still being used.

Video surveillance from a King of Prussia gas station showed Galo-Ponce filling up the stolen car, and Gonzalez-Mungia’s cellphone placed them in the vicinity of the murder.

This allowed officials to locate Gonzalez-Munguia and Galo-Ponce across the country, as they were using both the victim’s car and card.
