PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police broke up more illegal car meet-ups in the Northeast and Kensington Sunday night.

Around 10:45 p.m., police found a livestream of a meet-up near Sandmeyer Lane and Red Lion Road in Bustleton. Police made several arrests and impounded some cars.

Officers also broke up a car meet at Kensington and Lehigh avenues. Inspector D.F. Pace had a warning for anyone who participated.

“We are going to come after you,” he said. “This has been a message that the city has put out very clearly. We are dedicated to ensuring these streets are safe for everyone, and anyone that wants to participate in these sorts of activities that are going to endanger the lives of themselves, as well as spectators and innocent bystanders, we’re going to do everything we can to address that.”

Pace said police have plenty of video from social media, surveillance cameras and officers’ body cameras, so they could make more arrests once they identify the people in those videos.
