MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities in South Jersey arrested a man early this morning who they said escaped from a prison halfway house earlier this week.
Monroe Township Police said they received a report of a suspicious person prowling in an area of North Tuckahoe Road, just west of Williamstown, New Jersey early Thursday morning.
Officers responded and found 44-year-old Jerome Lindsey a little after 2 a.m. After further investigation, they discovered he had a warrant for escaping the South Woods State Prison halfway house in Bridgeton on Wednesday.
Lindsey was arrested, and was also in possession of items they believe were stolen.
