PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body in Pennypack Park in Northeast Philadelphia.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 4:30 p.m Tuesday. Police officials said the body found was that of an adult, but have not revealed the gender of the individual and are referring to them as "John or Jane Doe".
Medics on scene pronounced the individual deceased just after 5 p.m.
Police are actively investigating the cause and manner of death. Northeast Detectives are working with the Medical Examiner's Office to identify the individual and figure out what happened.
