WARRINGTON, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Warrington Township, Bucks County are investigating a possible abduction attempt of a child on his bike.

The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Friday on Continental Drive and Liberty Lane which is in a neighborhood just off Easton Road.

An 11-year-old boy, according to his parents who spoke with NBC 10, stopped to adjust a tennis ball in his bicycle spokes when a man in a pickup truck stopped, got out, and grabbed his left arm.

The boy was able to break free quickly and he ran home to get back to his parents, police said. He was not injured.

“It’s frightening. It’s really just very frightening,” Rosemary Hillman, a Warrington resident, said to NBC 10. “I don’t know whether they’re from around here or whether they’re just coming here and looking for an easy mark or what.”

The man was wearing a black hoodie, jeans, a shiesty mask and gloves, according to police. They are looking for either a pickup truck or SUV. It may have been an older model, possibly a Chevy, with rust over the back tires and damage on the front passenger side bumper.

Police also said it was an isolated incident and have received no other recent reports of attempted abductions.

Anyone with information or surveillance video of the incident, the person involved or the vehicle, is asked to contact Warrington Township Detective Bernard Schaffer at bschaffer@warringtonpd.org or 215-343-3311 extension 222.
